Today I am modelling a dress Cris made for her sister-in-law.
Cristiane's Pattern Review:
Fabric: It’s a type of jersey, that it’s a nightmare to sew because it keeps rolling.
Pattern: McCall’s 6308
Year:Modern
Notions: Self made bias biding as per pattern, 3mm elastic.
Time to complete: Lost count of how many days
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes. Pretty much.
Were the instructions easy to follow? There were times I had to read the instructions a couple of times, specially on item 18, where the elastic meets the waist. Just didn't add the elastic in the end.
Did you use new skills or a particular skill: No.
Did you make any alterations or modifications?
No, just didn't add the waist elastic.
First worn: July 2012 by Rachel
Wear again? I hope my sister -in-law likes it. If I would do this again for myself, I wont use the same type of jersey. It drove me crazy. If it weren't a gift it would be an UFO.
Thanks Cris, the dress is lovely! I'm sure she will like it.

Dress is beautiful.

ReplyDeleteThe dress is absolutely beautiful! And since I AM the "sister-in-law" im the one who gets to keep it! I chose the color of the fabric and poor Cris, bless her, gone through all this hassle but it is stunning, Thank You!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you everyone!
ReplyDeleteI did enjoy making it though, so probably I will do one for myself!
Bel you are welcome!
Lovely!
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking of making this but I'm a bit bemused that the waist band doesn't extend round the back?!
Maybe you think it doesn't need it?
