Dear readers, the next two months of my life will be dedicatedly to full time dissertation writing.
After a full time MBA, the feeling of seeing the light at the end of the tunnel is trilling but there is a very scary tunnel ahead that I am not really looking forward to it. Dissertation is already a massive task, add the complications of writing in another language and those annoying 4 herniated disks. I'm totally scared!
Because of the very limited amount of time- due date is September 05. I must put all my energies on it.
What does it mean for House of Pinheiro?
Well... It means that I may not post often, likely short or wordless posts 1 or 2 times a week for the next 2 months. It will be hard for me to comment back, so don't think I haven't appreciated your comments.
I just wanted to let you know and set the right expectations. I really enjoy writing this blog and the fun interaction with other talented crafters. I made amazing friends here. I will just be bursting to make things again, so watch out for the end of the year LoL.
I actually added "free' time on my schedule but I may be too tired so let's see what happens.
Share with me what are your current life challengers that are in the way of fun crafting/sewing/knitting?

Ohh good luck. Mine was about 18,000 words long and took up pretty much the whole of my life for about 4 months.
ReplyDeleteLoved doing it but not the stupid 9am - 11pm days that went with it. x
I'm just coming to the end of my degree with the Open University. It finishes in October and I can't wait. 2 more papers, and final project and an oral exam and I'm done! Good luck with the dissertation.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with it - we'll miss you but we understand!
ReplyDeleteSounds intense! I'm doing some post-grad study at the moment as well (although nothing as involving as what you're up too!) so I know exactly how you feel. Best of luck, and may the knowledge be with you!
ReplyDeleteMay the force be with you!
ReplyDeleteI have two little girls and a very demanding stressful job. I've recently returned to the sewing machine as I needed some head space and life perspective - and I've found my zen time. While I can't sew as much as I like, I sew when I can, every finished project is a victory and I feel happy when I just think about sewing. So make sure you find some time, you deserve it!
As usual, you will conquer this enormous task with the talented skills that you possess! Think positive, go hard, and do what you need to.....it will be well worth it in September.
ReplyDeleteAs for current challenges in my sewing world - just making it into my sewing room is a major challenge at the moment. Luckily, sewing is such an inbuilt skill I will always be able to pick it back up in a month or two...or three!!!
Fingers crossed for you.....J
The best of luck to you! Keep breathing, keep smiling, and when you look up, see that light at end of the tunnel :)
ReplyDeleteAll the best! I am sure it will be insightful, intelligent and get you a big A++!! :)
ReplyDeleteI'd like to join others in wishing you good luck- if you need some guest posting- you know where to go )))))
ReplyDeletegood luck my dear.
ReplyDeleteBest of luck!!! The end of the tunnel will be here before you know it. We'll all be here when you get back :-)
ReplyDeleteThe very best of luck, just remember to allow yourself some 'off' time else you will be frazzled. It's not a brilliant task but you do feel fantastic once it finished and you can see it bound and pretty :)
ReplyDeleteMy sweet, dear friend Rachel, I am sending prayers your way.. That your back will be ok and for your studies..
ReplyDeleteI will be praying for you.. September will be here before you know it, and you will be back with us, sewing and cooking up a storm.. Just get your work finished, and we will be anxiously awaiting talking to you again, and seeing the beautiful things you make.. Hugs and good wishes.
Wishing you the best of luck!
ReplyDeleteYou need to concentrate your energies on your dissertation right now, not spread yourself thin entertaining your loyal readers! Best wishes for a relatively painless writing of that all-important document, and prayers for your good health over the summer. We'll see you again in September. Use your "free time" to nap, sew something for yourself, or just sit quietly and gaze into space. Take care of yourself.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with your studying and writing up! Make sure you don't work all the time and give yourself some breaks though :)
ReplyDeleteAll the best with your writing, blogging is a lot of work finding things to write about etc, I don't know how you've done it all with all your studies...plus sewing. :) Hope all goes well!
ReplyDeleteLots and lots of luck on the work ahead of you, but I know you will knock it out of the park. I'll still be here when you return.
ReplyDeleteI know you will do very well on your dissertation. Thanks for letting us know what you'll be doing for the summer. And don't be concerned about posting here regularly. I understand, and I'm looking forward to reading your blog again in the autumn.
